At the time when singers are acting in movies, one of the best singers in Nepal, Anju Pant, has refused to act in a movie. Debut director Govind Gautam had approached Anju to sign in her as the lead actress in his upcoming movie Sindoor. Jenisha KC was signed instead when Anju refused to play the role.
The most notable singers choosing to act in movies are Prashant Tamang (Gorkha platan and other two movies), Yesh Kumar (Bato Muniko Ful), Babu Bogati (Bato Muniko Ful, Miss U … etc). It is yet to be seen if their acting career will be as successful as their music career.
