In a program held at the Army Officers’ Club, 19 different awards were handed to the top music artists on January 6, 2012.

Among various musical programs, poet Chhetra Pratap Adhikari was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for his contribution to music sector. Narendra Pyasi and rock band Albatross each won three awards. Full list of the award follows:

For the year 2068, folk singer Sunita Dulal has released her 11th musical album, Teej ko Dar, in audio and video format. The CD and VCD released on July 17 (Shrawan 1, 2068) was released by to the market by Sagarmatha Digital. The CD and VCD feature 10 of her Teej themed songs.

The relationship between the singer couple Anju Panta and Manoj Raj is reported to be in difficult situation. Anju is told to be preparing to end the marriage of nine years.

The love marriage between Manoj and Anju hadn’t been much smooth since their 2058 BS marriage. Anju Pant is one of the top singers in Nepal but Manoj Raj hasn’t been able to create the similar magic in music sector. Some suspect Anju’s success being the cause of disagreement between the two. Anju is currently living with her parents and is reported to be seeking legal help on her divorce.

Singer Komal Oli has come up with a new musical album named "Cha-cha-hui", a Nepali word for playing swing during the biggest festival in Nepal, Dashain.

The music video of the title song is 20 minutes long. In addition to Dashain songs, the album also includes Tihar songs. Deusi, Bhailo, and Tihar lights are themes of the songs targeted for Tihar festival.

Komal Oli makes news every Teej. It is not only that she is unmarried, she also sings suggestive songs indicating she is eager to get married.
