The action hero, Biraj Bhatt, has overtaken the superstar, Rajesh Hamal, in being the most paid actor in Nepali movies. After being busy in Bhojpuri movies, Biraj announced that he will only do selected Nepali movies, not exceeding two in a year. That was 6 months back and at that time he also increased the amount he used to receive for working in a movie from Rs. 500,000 to Rs. 600,000.

Recently Biraj signed an agreement with the producers of an upcoming movie, Griha Yuddha, for a record sum of Rs. 800,000.  Shooting of the movie, directed by Uddav Abhidit, is going to start soon.

Biraj says that he doesn’t have free time from acting in Bhojpuri movies. On to of that as a dozen of his movies are ready for screening, he wanted to see the results from them before starting more Nepali movies. In Bhojpuri movies, Biraj is reported to receive a maximum of of about IRs. 1 million (about 1.6 million Nepali currency) for a movie.

The movie, Basma Chaina Mero Man, is going to be released on Nov. 5, 2010 in Kathmandu. The movie was already shown in the theaters out of Kathmandu but was waiting for its turn to be screened in Kathmandu.

The decision to start its screening was taken in a haste so the producer of the movie Rimesh doesn’t have much time for its promotion.

The movie featured Biraj Bhatta, Karishma Manandhar, Raj Ballav Koirala, Mukesh Acharya, and Nandita KC in leading role.

A movie of Eva Films’ "Timi Bina Ko Jiwan" is being shown in theaters out of Kathmandu since Friday, August 20, 2010. The movie is directed by Raj Shakya and features Biraj Bhatta, Jenisha KC, Suman Singh, Shovita Simkhada, Laxmi KC etc.

The music scores of Timi Bina Ko Jiwan are prepared by Taraprakash Limub, fight direction by Roshan Shrestha, and choreography by Govinda Rai.

A movie will be named after a popular song of singer Anju Pant. Director Yogesh Ghimire has named his upcoming movie ‘Na Birse Timilai Na Paya Timilai’. This movie will be Yougesh’s fifth movie.

The copyright owner of the song, Ranjana Music Industries, has agreed with Pragya Films to use the song in the movie and name the movie after the song. The director of Nepali movie ‘Ganga Jal’ has told that the movie is doing very well in the cinema halls of Eastern and Western Nepal. Director Pramod Bhandari told that the movie is getting a lot of regular viewers, after visiting Eastern Nepal.

Publicized as ‘A Campaign Against Corruption,’ Ganga Jal is produced by Sunil Dhakal and is made in Cinemascope technology. The movie features Biraj Bhatta, Rekha Thapa, Shobita Simkhada, and Sushil Chhetri in leading role. The music is composed by Mahesh Khadka.

It took a year for this movie ‘Aafno Manche Afnai Hunchha’ to get its turn to be featured in the Kathmandu theaters. The movie features top actors in the leading role – Biraj Bhatta, Arunima Lamsal, Rekha Thapa, and Mukesh Dhakal.

The movie is presented by Munal Ghimire under the banner of PLM Films. Roshan Shrestha is the fight director, Mahesh Khadka is the music director, and Puroshotam Pradhan has done a good job in filming the movie.

Kanyadaan, a Sovit Basnet movie is all set to release on July 16, 2010. The Kanyadaan movie production team in a press meet announced that the movie will be released in 60 theaters at once.
