After the movie Dasdhunga refused to participate in the film awards NEFTA (Nepal Film Technician Association) Awards citing it’s nomination process un-scientific, another movie First Love has also decided not to participate.
Although, First Love is being nominated in the top five of 9 different categories out of 34 award categories. The First Love team was surprised when it was nominated in script, editing but not in the the best movie award category and best direction category.
In Nepali film industry the big question of today is – Who is going to determine which film is successful and which one is not?
Our Nepali film industry is very very liberal in giving all the responsibilities to the producers of the movies to tell about the business they did. At the current time everybody is telling that their movie have been a great performer. For example, producers of Kohi Mero are telling that their film was the most successful in the current year. Producers of another First Love are making similar claims. That is not all, Palpalma, Deepsikha, Himmat-2, Dashdhunga and Sindoor are also making claims of doing above average business.

It is the high time, some independent and credible body be formed to evaluate the success or failure of a movie. As our film industry is plagued with syndication and unfair practices, the government should intervene and form a body to evaluate the box-office success of the movies.
After the success of First Love, Actress Nisha Adhikri is going to start working as a VJ in a new TV channel named TV Filmi. The TV channel will be produced by Gopi Krishna Movies.
Nisha will host a live program starting 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM every day in the channel. Nisha currently is busy in designing of the set and pre-production of the program. The test broadcast of the TV will start from August 31, 2010.
Before this, Nisha had previously worked as VJ in Kantipur TV and NTV-2.
The producer and distributor of Nepali movie ‘First Love’, Narendra Maharjan was proud to announce that his movie has grossed Rs. 8 million in the first week of release. He claimed that it was a record in Nepali movie industry.
The movie was released in 40 theaters in Nepal on August 6 and it is running houseful in its second week of release. In the time when a lot of movies didn’t manage do good business, success of First Love has relieved the concerned producers.
In the third week, First Love will have to compete with Kohi Mero of Alok Newang and Nai Na Bhannu La of Bikash Acharya.
Richa Sharma’s ‘First Love’ is going to be released on August 13th. In her debut movie, Richa, one of the popular models in Nepal, is acting opposite to her own love Binay Shrestha.
In the eve of the release of her first movie, Richa talks about her first love and other memorable one-sided loves she had to face since her elementary school days.
The first love she faced was in fifth grade when a boy said ‘I love you.’ in the class.
Then she received a love letter written in blood in grade eight. It was in grade 11, that Richa got attracted towards her current boy friend.
Simosh Sunwar’s ‘First Love’ was premiered in Jaya Nepal theater on Thursday. The premier show was done on the eve of its release all over Nepal on Friday, August 6.
The ceremony started with a cocktail party that went on for one and half hours before the actually show of the movie started.

First Love is scheduled to be shown in theaters in Kathmandu and outside Kathmandu on 21 Shrawan (August 6, 2010).
It is an upcoming film by Simosh Sunwar of ‘Mission Paisa’ fame. Starring Aryan Sigdel of ‘Mero Euta Saathi Cha’, Karma and Vinay Shrestha of ‘Sano Sansar’ and Nisha Adhikari. The movie introduces Reecha Sharma who will be seen for the first time in big screens.
